About

You might be wondering why I am the girl you should hire to edit your lengthy literature review, proofread copy for your glossy company brochure, polish up the fine points of your resume, craft the most perfect reference list you have ever seen, or spruce up your website wording prior to the big launch.
I’ll tell you why.
You should employ me, because editing is not just a means to a paycheck for me. It’s more than that. I get all wrapped up in the thrill of the edit; it’s like a puzzle for me, finding and fixing the itty-bitty mistakes (and the big ones, too), replacing boring words with more vibrant choices, nixing the redundant language, and following the all-important style rules (APA Style and AP Style are my specialties, but if you’ve got a style all your own, I’ll follow that, as well).
I’m the friend on Facebook who notices all the misplaced commas and misuses of your and you’re, the mom who coaches little boys at the kitchen table as they tackle grammar worksheets, the one who finds great pleasure in spotting errors on billboards and banners. Editing is my passion, my hobby, and, yes, a method for scoring funds so I can finance my small addiction to shoes, purses, and pedicures. The passion part — that is what’s important. I think so, anyway.
Pick me, and you’ll get polished pages and properly tweaked grammar, punctuation, spelling, sentence structure, and voice. When I’m finished with your piece, it will be in tip-top shape, and I’ll let you know exactly what I did to make your words sparkle.
How did I learn to be so picky? Journalism classes, seven years of college-paper writing, editor jobs at AOL and Huffington Post, freelance editing gigs for graduate students and the creators of online college course content, plus all-the-time blogging/writing and reading over my own work.
